Dr Sarah Cannard is a Senior Engineer and Project Manager at Nova Systems and has over 18 years of experience working in the Australian defence and space industry. Sarah is currently the Lead Engineer for the AROSE Trailblazer Lunar Rover and the Industry Director at the SmartSat Cooperative Research Centre.
Prior to her current roles, Sarah has been involved with many complex defence and space programs including the JAXA Hayabusa 1 Spacecraft re-entry, hypersonic sub-orbital rocket launches, Lunar Rover studies, and autonomous vehicle trials for defence. Sarah is also a Fellow with Engineers Australia, an Amelia Earhart Fellow, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was the 2022 Female Space Leader of the Year. Sarah has a deep passion for space and growing a sovereign Australian industry, promoting space-STEM careers and creating opportunities for all generations.
